To be totally honest. This cd is not Worth the money. It is too long, too slow,The vocals grate away at your ears.If there is one positive thing about this album it would be track 3 (Everwake) which is only 2 1/2 minutes long and has some beautiful Female Vocals. Buy the recent stuff it is much better.

This is good root of Anathema. CD cover foto is one of the best I've ever saw. It is very suitable to the music. Music is mournful death/doom with slow tempo without any accelerations. 'Crestfallen' is one of the best Anathema songs for me.
It is good to buy this EP on one CD with 'Pentecost III'.

A very good debut. Very, very slow doom/death. And very depressive and melancholic. Music to love death, pain and other sad stories of life. I have a double CD together with the "Serenades"-album. If itīs still available, itīs worth the cost.

I couldn't believe my luck when I found the original vinyl of this in a local record shop ... though I must admit I wasn't that impressed with it to begin with, Anathema's early sound is really impenetrable, kind of like heavy as bricks (!) this EP is as heavy as a skip full of bricks. Top-notch Doom/Death with nice melodic moments. (7/10)

Anathema's debut e.p. is nothing short of a masterpiece. This was 1992 and only the first couple Paradise Lost releases existed in the genre. Anyone obsessed with death doom in the early 90's was completed floored by this release. I know I was. Raw death vocals pour out sad poetics over the slow, melancholic, shimmering, heavy-as-hell de-tuned riffs. This one changed my life. I remember carrying a boom-box through the woods as a teenager on a grey and rainy autumn day in 1993 playing this. This e.p. meant everything. Hail!!!!

The best of doom metal. Along with their next L.P. Only Turn Loose The swans and Espera... of MDB is comparable with this.
Great great great. I listened to it when i was 16. I dont listen to this now but its smth big. Its bigger than Doom Metal genre. Anathema was a great band and still is. Oh my dear god... Everwake + ...And I Lust. Its eternal guys. Just Get This.
