This album reminds me a bit of "The Wall", and also modern Radiohead, and not in a good way. it's very nice how romantic it gets, and its very touching, but it sounds so unoriginal that it sucks a bit.
but truth is, the romance covers everything when it comes to Anathema.

At reaching Parisienne moonlight I found myself unexpectedly in tears...quickly suppressed them ;) The booklet says it's dedicated to his diseased mom.

I prefer this cd over The silent enigma and Serenades, buy it.

To me, Anathema lost everything when Darren left after Pentecost III.
Now weve got a brand new band, which isnt half as interesting or .. anything .. as the good-old Anathema.

BUT.. this has to be the Darrenless-Anathema best acheivment. songs float one after another very well, and you (or at least me) dont get bored in between too much.
when its Doom were talking about, the slower the better - but this is no Doom, and Alternative 4, Eternity and Silent Enigma sound so tired to me. tired rock.
this album sounds as if it holds much more energy.
and besides, the songs are so romantic that if your a hearted-creator - you cant ignore!!
sure worth a listen.

This is not the real Anathema.A poorer attempt to be commersial. Pybus guy is like a hunter for gold...

after Duncan's left I expect something different yeah its something different but the atmosphere and this fact does not change : anathema is the most depressive band that fuck me totally up the vincent's vocals are unique and the danny's effective guitars....
must for losers and depressive age .....
come and face the sadnesss
12/10

The best Anathema album, sorry for the old fans.

This is the most accessible Anathema album I've heard. Does not require a few listens to get into as their previous works with a few almost catchy parts - especially the first song. Still maintains the overall sadness of Anathema but it is quite a bit less disconnected than their two previous works - having a good flow between songs and I would say the best album they're released as a whole.

Judgment if we noted the best album that give one mood of great music played, noted type of connection between each track in instuments and words.
