Well, A Must cd for all metal fans. Better than their previous ones. I must say i was a little bit sceptical about the loss of Darren White But Cavanagh just filled in the vocals just perfectly. Amazing doom metal with an atmosphere that drags you in and never lets you out.
Sunset Of Age is one of my favourite tracks Ever.
11/10!!

Totally a must have DOOM metal classic album. Every song of the album has real atmosphere of pain that takes you into, making you feel that something is booming inside of your breast, your heart! A Dying Wish is my all time top one hit Anathema song.

M.A.S.T.E.R.P.I.E.C.E! This is the best Anathema album even songs like Cerulean Twilight and Nocturnal Emission got cool after several listens.
Restless Oblivion and The Silent Enigma are the best Anathema songs ever.

10/10

I love this cd, And I got the digi-pack version so I got two extra songs, "The Silent Enigma Orchestral" and "Sleepless '96". This is thier most beautiful CD, and I'm glad they mixed harsh-death metal like vocals with clean ones, this is truly a Doom Metal masterpeice. "The Sunset of Age" is my favorite song on this one, "Restless Oblivion", "Shroud of Frost", "Nocturnal Emission" and of course "The Silent Enigma" are other favorites, and everything else on the CD is pretty good. "Sleepless '96" is good, but we all know it doesn't beat the version sung by Darren on Serenades. This is the kind of work that will truly be missed.

i didn't like the album the first time, but it grows everytime i listen to it... The last growls of vincent are here... I love it, it has a self-feeling...very emotional! If you want to hear the riff of "Restless Oblivion" go and check for thanatoschizo and their song "A Day"... they copied;) 10/10

After Duncan left the band, they came back as good as before, even better. A real good album with an own atmosphere from the beginning to the end. "Restless Oblivion", "The silent Enigma" or "A dying Wish" have all-time potential. Songs for Eternity !?!

The album is a doom classic - the last Anathema album with distorted vocals and much heavier than their later releases. Has some beautiful songs revealing the true heights of despair.
