These fellows definitely have the rare talent in vomiting the most laughable crap on a regular basis. So 900 years of Splendid isolation has led to this result. Last time I placed my soles on English soil, some Cockney moron claimed their food (fish and chips) to be the best. No wonder..

i must say this was a disappointment after the power cosmic. songs were well-structured an all, but to me it was just lacking something. maybe my expectations were just too high after the previous album.

6.5 out of 10

This was their second album who gave me impression to listen the same songs with only different words. For me this is completely useless CD, because the lack of musical difference between 4 last albums.

Well now... This band is certainly interesting... I like what Bal-Sagoth are trying to achieve, but sometimes it's super cheesy. This CD makes me laugh, because of how ridiculously cheesy it is. Some of the lyrics are utterly ridiculous, as well as how Byron sings them. Now don't get me wrong... I like this CD, hahaha. It's the first Bal-Sagoth CD I've ever heard & I plan to look into their earlier releases with an open mind. My favorite song is Star-Maps Of The Ancient Cosmographers. 7/10

I agree with msatan. It's Bal-Sagoth and its awesome, but this album doesn't quite live up to the quality of the two before it. Can't really explain why, like said above, the songs are very well structured, they're just slightly lacking somewhere. Favorite songs are "Atlantis Ascendant" and "The Splendour of a Thousands Swords Gleaming Beneath the Blazon of the Hyperborean Empire (part III)".
