The best album by Cannibal Corpse. The guitar playing is very clear. Great production; you can hear everything that's going on. Great lyrics. Great everything.

This album had superior production next to it's predecessors, although it sucked compared to Butchered or Tomb. The lyrics went down the drain, no technicality to the guitar playing, lazy drums, but it did have some catchy tunes. 4/10

This is absolutely the best Cannibal Corpse album, also it has one of their best songs: Stripped Raped and Strangled. It is a simultaneous combination of technique and brutality. Which is the perfect formula for a perfect album. The last album with Chris Barnes, but the best!. This is true death metal!!! If you dont have it yet, then go get it!

the bleeding is in my opinion the worst cd in death metal. its chris barnes at his worst sounding like his poor six feet under vocals on this release.

This is the only album where Cannibal Corpse actually tries to differentiate song from song without every one being unforgettable and interchangeable.Don't get me wrong,I don't think cannibal should have to change their sound or style just because the thousands of death bands that came after copied them and their legacy buy this album really stands out as different. It's still fast, crazy and offensive(well maybe not the cover)and most songs are different from one another. This makes this a great and entertaining album in my opinion.Cannibal Corpse Forever!

Respect where respect is due, Cannibal Corpse are possibly the most extreme band on the planet. Having up-the-ante of early Death and taking horror lyrics and imagery to new extremes CC have created a huge cult following and notoriously sick reputation. However CC’s extremity was as much a weakness as it was a strength in the early years as musically while being both brutal and heavy, they were also both indecipherable and mundane. The Bleeding did a lot for CC as both their sound and approach matured, the lyrics remained uncompromising and the music still blisteringly heavy however the speed was slowed down and Barnes become more intelligible. It is easy to see why this album became the bands most successful, riding the wave of Death Metal’s height of popularity and already enjoying underground credibility, CC produced their most accessible album to date and threw the door open to the wider metal community and music public in general. Songs such as ‘Stripped, Raped and Strangled’ highlighted the new approach using groove and bass to create a more catchy, more easily recognisible sound and Barnes lyrics took on a more traditional verse/chorus/verse structure. Sadly this was to be Chris Barnes last foray with CC as he went on to form Six Feet Under which were to take the groove, bass approach further to the masses. The Bleeding for its time was a great DM record that saw the band reach a crossroads and finally evolve, should be apart of every self confessed death metal freaks collection.

In my personal opinion the best CANNIBAL ever(the last one with CHRIS BARNES).Brutallity, strenght, black humour, gore lyrics - in one word the cruel fase of life - extremely psycho and in the same time very different CANNIBAL from the other albums of the band...nice

the bleeding is absolutely cannibal corpse masterpiece. with tomb of the mutilated something was over, having reached his complete maturity what had begun with eaten back to life. the choice by chris barnes to leave the band after this album is comprehensible (less comprehensible is the choice to join six feet under....)
