The initial wiplash,it's inlaid all over the album...It self it's a grim whip bleeding on the listeners backs.
With a Fenriz rithmic performance mostly slow, than the usual blasted beat ,the guitar riffs match perfectly as the painful summoning by Nocturno ...
Tracks like 'Claws of Time' or 'Across the vacuum' seem to much melodic to D.T but undeniably raw...
In the basic Music format structure of previous album(GoatLord),Ravising Grimness its not at all the better release from the creators of 'The True Norwegian Blackmetal' but their unholy feeling it's floating around..

i think this album is slightly better than Plaguewielder and Hate Them. more inspired song writing.

A very modern sounding Darkthrone Album. Good, but by far not the best.
Darkthrone can do it better (what means darker, more evil, more "undergroundier").

Although I like DARKTHRONE a lot, I still have to say Ravising Grimness is a picece of shit, and it's easily the worst DARKTHRONE cd ever. The guitar riffs of this album are extremely boring and unintellegent, the pace of most of the songs is boring without much variations. It's true that repetitive riffs are very common for Black Metal, but the riffs for this album are not attractive and not evil at all, simply BORING. Each song is long in length, but just like shit. Some people may say "Hate Them" and "Total Death" are the worst DARKTHRONE release, but I suggest that "Ravising Grimmness" is also the candidate for THE WORST DARKTHRONE RELEASE !!

...and they came back!!!!!!!!!!!!!...this is the beginning of the second darkthrone period, in which they would reach the status of pure metal legends, like motorhead and bathory, billions miles over iron maiden and judas priest queer metal.
this is the manifestation of soulside journey eternal recurrence, fenriz told us about the darkthrone boring period, and i'm happy to listen to such a masterpiece from such a period, boring or exciting, it's not my business............
LIFELESS and TITLE TRACK are top darkthrone rank...the lyrics already were powerful, from now on they will be divine.
I GRIN HANDLING MY WEEp.....DEPRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
