Damage Done is, for me , DT's best album ever. Mixing the highly symphonic sound of Haven with heavier textures, DD is an intelligent and well developed piece of death metal. Curiously sounding more akin to In Flames in places (Monochromatic stains, Final Reistance), but still DD is much more consistent than any of the IF albums, and so much better. All of the tracks in this album are top-notch, there is not 1 filler. Naming any highlights would mean naming the entire album playlist, it is that good. Truly Magnificent, these Sweedes have not released one avergae album in their history, and this is the third masterpiece theyvé produced in a row, not counting the masterpieces 'the gallery' and 'skydancer'.

10/10

-Skydancer (Technical and beautiful. Unique mix of fast blazing guitar work with an incredibly emotional and melodic feeling. A masterpiece)

-The Gallery (The Second masterpiece. More techinical ythan ever, better produced, tighter compositions, this is a total classic !)

-The Mind's I (Probably the less relevant within the discography of the band. Heavier than the past albums, but still very melodic. An excellent album, just not as innovative as the ones before or after it.)

-Projector (masterfully experimental, poignant and powerful. The clean vocals were fantastic and the electronic elements were extremely well arranged. A masterpiece)

-Haven (Flawless balance between agression, intelligence and a symphonic sound. Totally consistent as well. For me, Dt's second best)

-Damage Done (The final realization of DT. Technical brilliance, symphonic greatness and unparalleled musitianship. Their finest hour)

I really cannot understand why some reviewers characterized "Damage Done" as boring album, lacking new ideas and almost copying the previous one. I received that CD just when it became available and liked it very much, in fact after the first listening. For me that album seems to be one of the best together with "Projector". You can hear new sounding including electronics. All pieces are completely different from each other and the last one (instrumental) is especially cool. The band did all the best in this recording, I suppose there are not bad places in the album. The sale of "Damage Done" will be good, I guess.
Waiting for new material.

OK...it's a good album...intensed, smooth, and the guitar riff is damn nice...but it is somehow overated...Can it be better than shit like Gallery? I don't think so....More imporantly, I really feel the use of synthesizer damages most of the songs...the feeling really sucks, but I still give it

78/100

I heard about Dark Tranquillity off of a demo CD called Metal for the Masses, I was hooked as soon as i listened to one of their songs. I am very impressed with the talent that they showed on DD, it gets me hyped everytime i listen to it. I really look forward to a next album. Keep it up guys!

Dark Tranquillity: Damage done

Overall evaluation: Impossible.

A fucking masterpiece. Get all the previous albums, listen to them, and imagine anything better. Want it? Then go buy this. Beautiful and mind-shattering lyrics, kickass music (I mean, a truly virtuoso work in every aspect), and top-notch production. I don't understand saying that electronics damage the music, since I guess this is one of the strong points of the album: continuous renewal and innovative sound with the same power of the old times. Just a clap for these guys. Just one bad point: leaves me thinking the next album can't be simply as good as this. But with the genius of these Swedes, anything is possible!

It's a good album, i don't know if is the best Dark Tranquillity album, because Skydancer and The Gallery are a classics and very good albums in the history of the melodic death metal.
I hope Dark Tranquillity keeps making a good music like Damage Done, and do not follow the steps of In Flames.

Damage Done is the best Dark Tranquillity's album ever made .. this is PERFECT!

The album starts with The Final Resistance, then Hours Passed In Exile "brings you fires". A whole bunch of pure melodic death metal follows and I congratulate Dark Tranquillity for remaining brutal and real. Especially Mikael Stanne, who's the same dark swedish type, not like the In Flames faggot Anders, with his ginger hair and his stupid sort of singing.
10 out of fucking 10, dudes
You have to hear Live Damage, a DVD is coming!

Melodic death metal, this band is excellent; they have a great voice, a great sound, making them a great band, this album is a masterpiece in my opinion, this band in each album they make, they get better and better, and I hope, the next album, be better than this, because I believe they can be even better, and better, and better, they have all they need to be more bigger then they are.

Excellent record, Dark Tranquility have finally found an exact balance between harshness and more atmospheric elements of their music.

Well, they are my favourite band and this is one of the best daeth metal releases after 2000 but it is not the best release of dt's discography in fact my personal classific of dt is:
1- Haven (99/100)
1- The Gallery (99/100)
3- Character (96/100)
4- Damage Done (94/100)
5- Projector (92/100)
6- Skydancer (90/100)
7- The Mind's I (82/100)
(I considered only the full-lenght)
In this album there are amazing songs like: final resistance, hours passed, monocromathic, treason wall, white noise and great songs like: I deception, cathode ray sunshine and the poison well....
Thank You again
