If you are isolated to the crowd of god, this album keeps you company... the light that will lead you to a dark euphoria... Romantic Gothic/Doom metal at its best! with more sorrowful heavy riffs and mournful lyrics blended with aggression and haunting melodies... Based on irreverance towards god(the father of lies)... anywayz my only disappoinment from this album is less female vocals(Ms Lisa Johansson) its more on doom area this time compare to thier debut album... I really miss her voice, I cant hear her a lot... But this album indeed a great album! a must for a truly doom/death devotees!
prepare to weep...

Draconian express the essence of life..., its sublime melancholy, its mistery, the endless pain and the sad conscience of all this.
Arcane rain fell is the gothic/doom masterpiece of all times, everyone should have this record and love it forever, for it tells about the abyss of human soul.

The second album sees the band evolve more into the direction of classic doom metal. The gothic aspect has been decreased, there are less female vocals and on the other hand the male voice has become stronger and more powerful. This might please doom fans, but I think it makes the album a bit more boring.. An interesting aspect, though, is the fact that this album is a concept album, dealing with the fall of the archangel, so all the lyrics refer to that topic.

There is not really a song that I would put above the others or describe especially.. Expostulation is my favourite song on the album, but mostly because of the great lyrics. The rest is okay, but again medium quality doom metal that doesn't hold a lot of interesting features after a while.

Draconian play a beautiful melodic, emotional, doomy metal. I first heard their music when I was downloading some samples from the Napalm Records website. The song was Death Come Near Me. It's one of the most beautiful sad songs I've ever heard. Both this album and their previous Where Lover's Mourn are excellent.
