In flames has developed a more pop influtened deathmetal style that has became more and more mainstream.. Since the Colony cd it isn't real deathmetal you listen to.. but it is not bad!! NOT BAD AT ALL!! Personally i like the colony and clayman best.. just for the pop influences. So, how is SFYE sounding? how? Very good accualy :) You get a mix of clayman, Colony, a little bit of Jester's race. Some of the songs are more back to the roots.. (jester's race), when some of them sounds more like the New in flames. The songs are good and cathcy.. but this is far away the best album.. If it had been a new deathmetal band who released a CD i had give it 9/10.. but I expect more of In Flames!! The fantasy in the riffs, the melodies.. and not so much effects on the vocals!! please!! My english is not the best (im swedish) so I think i will end this now:PP .. It not a bad cd, not at all.. but i had expect more from the gothenburg rockers ;)) 6/10

This is the most useless In Flames album to date. there's nothing on it. I have everything by them and I have no problem with anything they did up to Tokoyo Showdown. I have no problem with Reroute.... I expect a band to experiment and try different things but with Soundtrack.. things have taken a turn for the worst and I would highly recomend people to buy their earlier albunms like Clayman or Whoracle coz they'er much better. Everything about them speaks of class. This however dose not.

So, today's the official release of this album :) Well... I've got it little earlier :D The Album is great although some think that it sounds too "New Metalish". I don't think so. It doesn't sound like "new metal" at all. You can hear sometimes the keyboards but it really fits there and guitars are very good. I've heard an opinion that new album is too melodic. Well and that's the whole beauty of In Flames - heavy guitars and vocals but also very melodic. If someone wants to listen to very rough metal - go on, there are many bands which play this kind of music. So if You've read some negative reviews about "Soundtrack..." and now you're hasitating - stop! Go and buy the new album! It's almost as good as "Clayman" :)

This album can not give the taste of Jester Race but in their evolution this is a better step than Trigger. Listenable album. I prefer earlier In Flames but I can not reject them because of the change in their music. This album is not too bad.

It is always sad to see a legendary band (melodic death metal here) changing its style to commercial sell out shit (nu metal here)

FUCK NU FLAMES !!!!

W.T.F ??? What a SHAME!!! Another great band gone bad. Very bad! This one just takes all the disapointment from Reroute and runs with it, even the song titles are trendy and cheezy. What's next? videos on MTV2?
I always thought that Jesper created this band to escape the HammerFall cheese, but at least HammerFall hasn't turned into a fucking Nu-metal band.

This just isn't melodic death metal any more. No, the album is not that bad. Believe me, then go jump in the river. Viewing what fans think about this album, I was stunned. Most of them find "The Quiet Place" the best song. Well, have you jumped in the shit already?

Good as usual! In Flames has changed its sound indeed but I still like them...all their albums are masterpieces! But I still believe they can do better!

Ummmm Yeah...I'm all for bands exploring new territory and evolving throughout the years, but this has to be one of the most boring albums I've listened to this year, maybe ever. At least Reroute was interesting in its own style. Sure there are some decent riffs and ideas here and there, but nothing seems to go anywhere. I tried, because I really used to like In Flames, but the only thing this album does for me is annoy me.

After visiting several websites and talking to several friends, it seems like the consensus is that In Flames is irreversibly stuck in this route to nu-metal pop. However, I take a different position. I believe that In Flames is not interested in alienating its core, but in winning over new fans, especially in the U.S. It worked with me, for sure, but I believe that with this exposure in the U.S. that they will start to get back to their roots and try to acclimate their new fans to a heavier style back closer to what Dark Tranquillity is today. Certainly, F(R)iend, In Search for I, and Dead Alone all have major elements in them that distinguished their previous releases. The end of Touch of Red also has the acoustic element that I personally loved in their albums up through Colony. I can definitely see a strong possibility of a shift back from the pop influences of R2R and STYE to their earlier style, perhaps not all the way back to The Jester Race, but to something new, something uniquely In Flames entirely.

I've read many the reviews of Soundtrack , and I think that some of them are to rough. Yes, they have a new sound and yes, the earlier albums were much heavier, but even if all this is true, you cannot just go talking about that In Flames has gone commercial. They haven't! I like those early albums, but there is nothing wrong in taking new turns. Soundtrack to your escape does not sound like the former albums, but it is still good. Actually, this is my favourite album after Clayman.

sigh.... another band corrupted by commercial crap. Wtf is wrong with these guys. Its aright to evolve sound and all that, but this is frankly out of discussion. Nu crap sucks ass, Id pay u to take it ffs.....
