Put Daniel Erlandsson of Eucharist behind the drum kit, Henke Forss of Dawn behind the mic, and Jesper Stromblad on guitars (before he started selling out writting the gayest beer commercial melodies in all of metal) and you have a Great EP from In Flames. This was the point where the line-up was NOT stable and Jesper used members from other bands. This is so perfect-it makes me wonder what the first one would sound like without JESPER playing drums if Daniel were to take over. A lot less folky but the Jesper did through in an all acoustic track-yeeey shit!
If you like Swedish shit-you should already own this, if you listen to Hemdale and Dead Infection religiously-avoid...

I really think that this is In Flames's best work. I really like the vocals and the guitar work its perfect. I just wish they will make another album like this but i know they never will.

Subterranean is actually counted as an EP or something. To me it's a very good piece of melodic Death Metal, excellent work. It's what made In Flames fucking gods of swedish metal
at that time. "Stand Ablaze" is a more likely experimental track, but yet a great bunch of solo and riffs. "Everdying" is a song everyone will remember with its catchy melody. The tytle track has some elements of thrash. We also have an acoustic instrumental, called "Timeless" and, of course, the surprising outbreak "Biosphere". Subterranean gives a fan everything he needs, despite having nothing but five tracks.
