Hahaha, this is the 'Hair-metal' period of Pantera. It is really amusing. But it would not be fair to review this album with those silly haircuts in your head, after all: We all like Motörhead altough Lemmy might be the ugliest guy around :-). I think this is the best 'before-CFH' album, it contains really cool powermetal stuff, it's very Kiss-influenced (and, yes, I like Kiss very much). I like it nearly as much as CFH. It's very rare though, so if you get the change to get it, then get it!

I was really glad to get a hold of this album. It's rare, but quite a gem.
Power Metal is the first PANTERA album to feature Phil Anselmo on vocals. Before this album the band was a lot more glam. These songs are fired off in a style that makes it halfway to Cowboys From Hell era Pantera. The rest of the sound is plastered with JUDAS PRIEST melodies and the catchiness of Shout At The Devil era MOTLEY CRUE. Diamond (Dimebag) Darell, simply shreds on this album like he hasn't since.
This album is in no way a joke. It totally bleeds pure metal. There is no way any of these songs would have made it onto the radio. At times it may be a little too "rockin" and not enough "stompin" for some, but that in no way takes away the importance of this album. If you can find it don't hesitate paying $20 dollars or more. You simply must own this album. \m/

Power Metal indeed! They really steal the show on this one. Hard to say which is better, this one or I Am The Night. Heavier then previous releases, and their 2nd best on from the glam-era. 1st one to feature Phil on vocals. Get I Am THe Night and this one, if you can. Molten Metal USA carries all of Pantera's old albums.
