What the hell is this? A great introduction followed by standard death metal is not my idea of a great cd. Lyrically this band are much like Morbid Angel, although musically they sound like an early 7" Dissection blended with typical USA death. The Vocals are the only resemblence to black metal, but this hardly compensates. I like death metal as well as black metal- but I dont rate this at all! 5/10. | Review by: hammerheart2 the bonus live tracks rocks hard. Review by: forgotten I wouldnt call this album a classic - its even quite boring at times, but by listening to this album its clear this band has much potential. it's normal black metal, half death. two remarkable things about this album is the amount of energy in it - it's very fast, and it's grind edge. one thing i didnt like is the big sense of repetition. the bonus live tracks are furious and are much more interesting than the album itself. bottom line, sure hard rocking - though not easy at all to get into. only for real metal heads. Review by: forgotten I personally think this is a very dark album. The best of their releases. I like the bonus tracks. The way the guitars sound is very dark and down tuned. You might want to listen to the album before you think of buying it. I give it 8/10. Review by: wintersheart This not only an black metal album.mix of black-death and thrash metal.very brutal music. Review by: Beyto Their 1st full-length(?) album (about 30 min.) in black-metal style with some death-metal parts, and also the 1st album with Proscriptor on the drums & vocals. You can get a touch of the classic ABSU-style, that reaches its perfection on the following releases. You should prefer the digipack-version including 3 live bonus tracks of the 1995-tour (about 48 min.). Review by: Body This Absu album takes a few listens to get into - mainly if you're a fan of their later work. This album has a lot more of a death metal feel but still has the signature Absu rhythms and vocals. It's a good album and nothing compared to what came after. I give it a 7. Review by: shanewick
