Not very alike their later releases, not to speak about the releases done after "The Silent Enigma", but still a great deathmetal demo tape. It's some kind of slow deathmetal, already with some doommetal parts. The quality isn't very bad, most of the tapes from the now well-known bands aren't that good, but this one is listenable ánd enjoyable. I still rather listen to some later albums, but it's a nice thing to hear once or twice a year when listening through the whole Anathema discography... Mainly an item for your collection, like most of the early demo's. | Review by: Flix If you can stand tape hiss and guitars that sound like they were recorded in a biscuit tin this demo is pretty good, it sounds like it was recorded just before Anathema were completely a doom band, "In The Name Of The Father" has the closest thing to speed drumming you're likely to hear from them, in fact it sounds a little like the first Morgion demo (hmm!)
