I only have one song of the album, Winter Embrace The Lands Beyond, but is great, the guitars melodies are the fantastic!!! | Review by: DeadTroll After 4 years I fianlly got my hands on a copy of this demo. I also got some rehearsal (1996) + live recordings (1997) with it but I'll stick to the demo for this review. Mystic Legends... is a great debut demo, with a good acceptable sound. Especially for the Black Metal Cirith Gorgor makes, namely "fast, yet melodic Black Metal" (stated by themselves in their bio).... At first you get a piano intro, then at neckbreaking speed the song "Darkness Returns" (with a great midtempo part + solo) kicks in. 3th song on this demo is "Winter Embraces Lands Beyond" which is a great song, with beautifull melodies played on a high tempo. After this we get "Shadows over Isengard" which has really hallucinating riffs and some kind of "viking metal" part. Then an exclusive song, which not appeared on their debut album (released aftter this demo) namely "Perishing Night's (A Nocturnal Gathering)" a great song which has all elements in it that make Cirith Gorgor so great. To compare Cirith Gorgor to other bands is hard because they mix a lot together very good. But you can hear some Dissection, Immortal (Pure/Battles) & Marduk (Those/Opus)... Overall they created a great demo, but if you can't get this one you'll have to get "Onwards to the spectral defile" their debut album released on Osmose, the label on who signed them after hearing this demo... My rating 8,7/10. Review by: nve
