Without being truly exceptional in any way, Dunkelgrafen has defined a sound of their own, in particular on this album. It may not be an album you will listen to on a daily basis but it's quite nice for a change; even though there is nothing that makes them really stand out, Dunkelgrafen's sound is different from those thousands run-of-the-mill of black metal bands out there.
