If_then_else is a top-notch that abounds in the territory explored by the song "in motion", mixed it with a slightly more "pop" oriented sound. I really like alot this cd. It's one of those works that grown on each listen. It hasn't the immediate appealing Mandylion had, but you get progressively used to what they try & achieve... mellow melancholic melodies, oniric passages and the like, make you feel like your brain is waved or something (it feels like music to listen on drugs). Then again, it's not so pop, this one. Amity, for instance, despite Anneke's beautyful voice, feels bleak in its aproximation, like a desperate cry of dispassion. So I have to say that this is an ultimate atmospheric DOOM experience. Listen to it, extreme metal fans, and learn about really emotional stuff.
