The best album of Immortal in my opinion. this cd is something diferent than the previous album: diabolical fullmoon mysticism. This album is more brutal and more fast. Buy It o Die!!! | Review by: Sukhorde For me, this is the best Immortal CD! Its so goddamn cold, extremely cold! I think this is one of the best albums that the (True Norwegian) Blackmetal scene ever had. This album contains the real cold/fast/good songs, it contains different classic Immortal songs: Unsilent Storms In The North Abyss, The Sun No Longer Rises and Pure Holocaust. This is a must-have for any blackmetal fan, and within this vision I agree with Sukhorde: Fuck, Buy Or Die!!! Hail the Mighty Immortal Review by: Flix With the exception of At The Heart Of Winter, I think that this is by far the best offering from the Immortal horde. The production is just right, very raw but not overproduced and VERY cold! The mixing is also perfect, every instrument is in perfect balance with each other, but at the same time lost in a blizzard of chaos that makes the album seem almost incomprehensible on the first couple of listens. This is probably as fast, insane, and as unintelligible as music will ever get; I have yet to hear another album which tops this one in every respect. If you do not own any Immortal albums yet, buy this one instead of Battles In The North because it is the best representation of Immortal's ideas. Venture into the cold Northern realms of "Unsilent Storms In The Northern Abyss" "The Sun No Longer Rises" "Storming Through Red Clouds & Holocaust Winds" and "As The Eternity Opens". Killer fucking holocaust metal! HAILS TO IMMORTAL, THE SONS OF NORTHERN DARKNESS!!! Review by: Ankou First of all, I think this piece is far too advertised. I don't like the sound of it, because it sounds like sh*t! Only good thing that it has is that Abbath's voice is the same. And the opening song is also good, and that's pretty much it. Review by: Blashyrkh86 This is the best Immortal album to date. You not only get the dark feeling of the "Diabolical" or the goddamn ultrafast drumming from the "Battles", this is truly a masterpiece of the most technical and obscure norwegian black metal ever done. This is for sure a must have for any black metal fan who enjoys the True Norwegian Black Metal Review by: Xibalba This is the greatest Black metal album I have ever heard. Immortal made an unique climate without the keyboards - and that is fantastic. Review by: Jack the Nipper hte best album done by immortal in their "black metal" period Review by: sahameth What can I say beside that this is one of my 10 favorite black metal albums. Great album, which should be own by any black metal-fan. 10 out of 10 Review by: Demonheart Best album of İmmortal..A Black Metal Classic Album.. Review by: Beyto This album is just great, the athmosphere is very dark, the sound is superb, there is nothing wrong in this cd. ABBATH AND DEMONAZ RECORDED IT ALL BY THEMSELVES, that is amazing, Erik(Gorgoroth ex.drummer)only did the enginering, so this is an effort that we really need to appreciate. This cd is just on top of: A blaze in the Northern Sky, Burzum, In the Nightside Eclipse, Pentagram and De Misteriis Dom Sathanas. Too bad to hear about the split up. HAILS TO YOU IMMORTAL AND IMMORTAL REAL FANS 10-10 Review by: dragod many of ya probably think this one is a true masterpiece, but personally i dont like it very much..vocals are really better on their first one and music is quiet monothonic..MMMM... Review by: the fog i dont know why but this shit just doesnt fit in with me...i dont like vocals, which were really better in their first lp,and music seems to me less atmospheric and inspired.but i'm not a fan of Immortal,so...in my opinion:leave it! Review by: the fog on the cover you can see pic of ERİC (before suicide)but he dont played drums on this album. Review by: Beyto This album is an amazing feat for Immortal's 2nd album. Especially considering the fact that I heard that Abbath is on drums as well as bass and infernal vocals. That is fucking talent! My personal favorite on this album is As The Eternity Opens, for the evil melodies of the guitar, Abbath's chanting voice as frigid as death, and the brutal sound of the drums in the chorus line. Being their 2nd official release, everyone needs to have much respect for this piece of brutal galloping holocaust metal. If you are new to Immortal, get a hold of this and see what you think after about three listens. Then it will dawn on you. Review by: moonwraith Ok, I don't want to say too much this masterpiece, so here are some words that come to my mind when I listen to it: Furious. Insane. Majestic. Evil. Ingenius. Unique. ICE-COLD!!! Review by: the_patriarch A good CD but not more... some parts of the melodies sound very good, but some are really boring. the drums are played good but a bit too loud in the mix (but anyway the production is very good). The vocals sound a bit like popeye but are also ok i think (I mean i heard better BM vocals... just to say Dead here). I give it a 9/10 because its their second realease and also an early BM release... if they would release it today i mayebe would give it a 7/10 or maximal a 8/10. Review by: 6gh6st6 This album is really good! It has a fantastic atmosphere which makes you imagine you´re alone in a dark frosty forest. Tracks number 1,2 and 8 is amazingly good. The others are also very worth listening. The band consists of 3 guys on this album, but one of them was just with them during the recording of this masterpiece (the drummer, Erik). PS. Blashyrk is a name for a little cottage the band members have in the forest, where they listen to Black Metal. Review by: mace22 probably the best immortal work, anyway one of the very best black metal album ever...a lethal mix of rage and sadness, when a violent spleen freezes the soul. "I believe in tragedies, I believe in desecration!" Review by: o I have to say that Pure Holocaust IS Immortal's Best album!!! Nuff said!! Damned in Black.....Fuck That shit!! Review by: Der Vergawaltiger Immortal - Pure Holocaust. Raw, cold, harsh, fast. These are the words that come to mind when I think of Pure Holocaust, my first Black Metal album. I really like the Grieghallen production which is very spartan. Abbath also plays the drums on this record. One of the best Black Metal albums of all time! Review by: Dennis666
