Some of the ideas and melodies on this album really have a lot of potential and you can hear the band is quite able to play their instruments. The production is also really good. Too bad the enjoyment this album could have given me is totally ruined by the totally out of place nu-metal sounding downtuned guitars... | Review by: werewolf666 So LUMSK is for everione who likes folk metal... like otyg but norwegian... good work Review by: parom After listening to this cd a few times, i caught myself singing along all the time. To start, the production isn't too clean, there lots of bass (7-string guitars) and a little bit of sludge sound. This forms a big contrast with the singer, who sings soprano. The music is never very fast, yet the drums are kept interesting by doing some weird measures from time to time. the violin is very nice too, especially when its melody is mixed with that of the keyboard. Awesome. This is folk metal, but don't expect Finntroll-like stuff. Finntroll is more black metal orientated than this stuff. Lumsk only has clean vocals, and there isn't a blastbeat to be found anywhere near it. If you feel like listening to something different for a change, this is where you should go. Slow Folk Metal with nothing but clean vocals. It'll take a few listens anyway, but if you're openminded you will certainly not regret it ! Review by: Mørke Morgûl
