Wow! I wonder how some men can put so much sadness and grief in songs such as those of Mourning Beloveth! While listening to this CD, my eyes were downcast, my heart was shrunk and wilted in bereavement, and my mind travelled to endless oceans of pain... my soul was pierced by sharp needles. | Now objectively speaking, what this Irish band offers is pure doom metal: slow tempos, down-tuned heavy guitars, melodic vox, and growls, which alternate perfectly throughout the album. Neither gothic keyboards nor female voice are found on this CD. Surprisingly, the album flows naturally without boring the listener since the songs were masterfully crafted and textured. Despite the monotony of some passages, it never goes dull. On the contrary, these five dirges (without bonus track) usher you to the darkest caverns of your shunned and gloomy memories. If you are a fan of bands like old Anathema, old Candlemass, and My Dying Bride, or if you want to cheer up your girlfriend, this album is a MUST for you. Go get it! Review by: -I-_Azagthoth_-I-
