This album is fucking brutal and technical death metal. Oppressor know how to play death metal in a unique and interesting way. It's just a crying shame that they split up and 3 members went on to form the tediously crap and generic rock group Soil. It pains me when musicians this talented decide to play less challenging and downright shite music just to make a buck. Oh well at least they left us with this great album before selling out. | Review by: The Monk Agreed. 'Solstice of Opression' was my favorite, and this album is good too. Fuck the posers that are in Soil, less idiots clogging the scene as far as I'm concerned. Good riddens, but Opressor was cool. One question - were these guys not aware that every single recording's production totally sounded like shit? Don't get me wrong, I love album production like Autopsy, early Napalm Death, early Mayhem... shit like that. But Opressor just sounded like their shit was done on a fucking 4-track. And the vocals were always sub-standard. I can get past that to the music though, like a lot of other bands. Decent band, not close to a footnote alongside the great bands like Immolation, Lost Soul, Cryptopsy, etc. Review by: The Coroner
