Very good album but now it is without black metal vocals and | it rather make me delay. It take more time to get into then on Neonism. Vocals are sing in more then two languages and album is very complexive. I must admit, that I like Neonism more because black metal vocals rules there but this album have other advantages. My rating is: 9,3 out of 10 Review by: unholypagan I love this album. I picked it up by coincidence without having heard of the band before and expected more black metal orientated music than I got. But what I got was a dazzling, entrancing blend of hundreds of elements from all kinds of contemporary music. Two vocal styles singing in four languages over guitars, bass, drums, synths, church organs, saxophones and I don't know what more. What makes it so brilliant is that it never gets too bombastic. Often keyboard-accompanied metal annoys me, but in some way or another the different elements from In harmonia universalis fit so well together I can't get enough of it. To make such a lot of experimentation sound good is a great accomplishment. Fantastic. Review by: Ravishing hipness this solefald album is my favorite, because i am not a big fan of black metal. with the help of lazare's back up voice this makes the album awsome, plus they sing different languages such as norwigian witch is my favorite culture so the over all rating i would give this album would be... 9.8 out of 10 Review by: soulgrind Solefald have always been on the fringe of the black metal scene. When it comes to the band, there are those that hate what they do, those who admire what they do and those who just don't understand it. I am probably halfway been the latter two groups. I'm intrigued and, at the same time, confused by the Solefald experience. One thing is for sure - the minute you try to describe Solefald's music you have already pigeonholed it. So I'm not going to sit here and tell you what bands they sound like in hopes that you might check them out based on influence, or explain their sound to you. What I will tell you is that there is no concern for the unspoken laws that govern what is OK and not OK in black metal. This is the same approach taken by bands like Arcturus and Dodheimsgard. On "In Harmonia Universali," the lyrics are written / performed in four different languages (English, Norwegian, German and French). A saxaphone can be heard a few times throughout the disc as well as a male choir, Hammond organ and Steinway grand piano. There is a song called "Buy My Sperm." Interested yet? If you're not already a fan, the only way you will ever enjoy Solefald is to throw out all you know about metal and its limitations. Solefald should appease your appetite for exploration. Close-minded metalheads need not apply. Review by: soleborgir
