Therions high-water mark as far as I'm concerned. An amazing mix of pure Operatic and Opera/Metal mix, every tune filled with hooks. Best song? Deggial, title track. Also it was the bands least favorite when it was released, I think they felt is was too 'conventional', the horns and operatic choir make it all come together though. | Review by: AnotherTrey Since the begining, therion has change a lotĦfor some people who like death metal would say that therion has died. But some other openned mind persons'd say that therion has just borned with this album. I think this is one of the best therion's original release, coz with this album, therion wrote another page on operatic melodic symphonic metal style, it's just great.Deggial combines incredibli the opera with metal, the coros are greatĦ, the female voice is lovely, and the cover of carmina burana suits very good to this album. So i give 9/10 to this album. and what else can i say?.. just hail THERIONĦĦĦĦ Review by: obsidian another high-quality album from therion, would you expect anything less? personally, i don't like this one as much as theli or vovin, but that speaks more to how great those albums are. deggial definetely qualifies as a buy-or-die. also: the carl orff cover came out very very well. and that's amazingly difficult to pull off. 8.5 / 10 for this one Review by: msatan81 This release has nothing interesting, the same typical sound from their pasta albums, that´s not completely bad, an average release by the way, the orchestation and choruses and all the fancy elements that make Therion what it is... but the carmina burana Oh Fortuna cover IS A TOTAL FAILURE, real shit... the only one song that killed an entire album.... Really, this guys pretend to have a sense of classical musicians, or something, but this songs only proves what do you get when you do not have any respect for the classics, well another pseudo-symphonic-metal band at the end....
