I am listening to this as I type. This cd is a majestic blend of black metal with some slight heavy/viking overtones. There are synths, but these are usually kept to the background, adding to the atmosphere. In fact, you start to forget they're actually there most of the time. There are two guitarists I believe, which adds to the technical aspect of many of the songs with solos appearing here and there.
