For me, "Evil..." is the best Tulus album. Very raw and very melodic at the same time. Tulus suceed in keeping the groove of the old school black metal and the radical part of the more recent black metal too. They splitted after this album but they continue to exist through Khold (on Moonfog). 9/10 | Review by: Quintessence I have never heard of Tulus before "Evil 1999" entered my cd-rom player.Tulus performs black metal of slower/mid tempo, with buzz guitars, and very loud bass guitar, often put up in the first plan,by playing interesting bass lines, and creating a bit of melancholic atmosphere.Vocal is a typical black metal scream,so be prepared for some ruthless malevolent screaming!Production reminds me a bit of legendary "Deathcrush",especially concearning the bass guitar, and the drums, which are,by the way, very good set along with the bass,so the rhytm section is one of the strongest weapons of Tulus. In the end,Tulus is definetely worth of listening time and effort,so we should stay tuned for other releases.
