"October Rust" is sheer brilliance, picking up from where they left off from "Bloody Kisses" Type O Negative continued to break new Ground with even Stronger and more powerful sexual overtones..... | The keyboarding takes on a new role here, brooding some dark and hauntingly beautiful melodies, that increase the entire experience to epic preportions.... Kennys catchy, almost pop like guitar riffs keep even the most "fussy" listener intrigued, while Peters Bass guitar and Lyrics are Signature "Steele".... Alot of risk was taken, with alot of experimentation in this excellent albulm, but all payed off to bring 70 minutes PLUS, of moving, stirring, deep and heartfelt alike lyrics and music genius, this albulm has it all... personal fave tracks include.... "Love you to death" "My girlfriends girlfriend" and "Greenman" although every song has PLENTY to offer... 10/10 my fave type O albulm.. * * * * * Review by: Steele October Rust is great album like everything Type O Negative does. yet, it's a major dissapointment, especially while thinking of Bloody Kisses, for example, which is by far Type O's best album. October Rust has everything - but it's less heavy, less hypnotic, less gothic, less interesting and much less inspired..and more wide audiance suited. but after all, it grows on you and you love it for what it is, which overall seems awsome. Review by: forgotten "October Rust" is less hard than the two other Studio-Albums. (It reminds me a little bit to a harder version of a "Sister of Mercy"-CD which I don't mean in a negative way.) It's in every case a great album. It has even more good songs than "Bloody Kisses". Listen for example to the great songs "Cinnamon Girl", "Wolf Moon", "Be my Druidess" or the amazing "Loved to Death" or the outstanding "My Girlfriend's Girlfriend", which gives me the creeps, everytime I listen to it. OK, there are a few boring songs on this one too (like on each TON-output), but I commend it to you in every case because of the outstanding and marvellous named songs above. Review by: warhellhammer a fairly decent album, has a number of good songs and a number of average ones. my favourites would have to be 'love you to death', 'be my druidess', 'red water' and 'wolf moon'. you may not like it if havent heard type o negative before, but its kind of a weird mix of gloom and humour Review by: morbz Weakest TON album. some people love it, I don't. The sound is over produced. My ex wife loved it--best indication of a weak cd. Review by: malik1917 Definetly Type O Negative at it`s finest moment. This is the closest that they get at Gothic Metal,`cos it`s full of melancholy. The keyboard job here,is simply excellent at painting walls of sadness behind the fuzzy sound of the guitar and the bass(which is a little distorted, for a heavier sound)and the voice is sisters -of-mercy-low,with great melodies that will get you humming them al night long. Review by: Wurdulak The best Gothic Metal album on the market. I've listened to this album so much that it skips when I play it now. If you like Type-o, this is a must have for your collection. Review by: Studster This album is great except those stupid tracks with their laughs and idiot sounds. Apart from that its a great album worth listening. Review by: Misty By far the best album that Type-O has to offer! They really bring it home with this one. After this album, it seems like they ran out of good material. RIP PETER STEELE...
