Über den Sternen
1. The Three Flames Sapphire
Autumn was in its prime
Fruits turned to golden wine
The heath shone purple and the haze so softly rose
and hovered o`er the ground
By magic without sound
three figures appeared on misty soil to the village close
They appeared as maidens to the ball
at the hour of nightfall
...so strange yet beautiful
With a glint of sadness in their eyes
that could not be denied
Yet it added to their charms
as they gladly joined the dance
...And they danced
as if their life depended on their pace
Any man was under a charm
and awed by their embrace
But the night had to come to end
with the morning rays
Vanished into the dark...
Forever gone and never seen again
As if night engulfed their shapes
and kept them forevermore
Now blue flames glide in the mist
of the moonlit moor
And enchant any man
as they dance through the endless night of their souls
2. A Lucid Tower Beckons on the Hills Afar
On the hillside distant
diademed by clouds
On a throne of woodland
which the mist enshrouds
Lucid tower high
by the starry roof
Thou seems ever nigh
even far aloof
And when darkness falls
Into the deep of night
The moon clads those old walls
In silver paint of light
This eternal site
proudly there upholds
olden sanguine might
-Secret lore unfolds...
Deep down in the dungeons
where dust dances in faint rays
of forlorn lights gone astray
Deep down in these ruins
water drops from mossy stone
A green shimmer on the wet grey
Forgotten tales arising
from the ancient ground
When the pines are luring
into myth abound
Lucid tower high
by the starry roof
Thou seems ever nigh
-never far aloof...
3. The Oaken Throne
Within the mist
The arms entwined
By moons enshrined
and softly kissed
The boughs so old
With leaves of gold
In autumns cloak
-The endless oak
Deep within the forests heart
The oaken throne
An ancient soul, a wooden guard
The tree of old
Centuries have seen its rise
Years thousandfold
It reigns upright, without demise
The oaken throne
Roots that touch the fire
of the earthen core
A crown that rose so tall
to where the eagles soar
Seat of kings alone
The oaken throne
Wisdom has been sown
The oaken throne
4. Moonrise
5. The Archer
On damp ground he walks
and lays the frost upon
the meadows and the moss
The hunt of fall is on
The archer and his bow
roam in the valleys cold
Eleven brothers know
again they`re getting old
Rain Wind Fire Ash
Snow Arch Mist Death
With a whistling ring
his arrow cuts the haze
and his freezing breath
resounds through the calm days
As the wheel hangs low
in snowy trees forlorn
The archer and his kin
know they shall be reborn
6. The Wild Swans
Behind the fading glow
of the horizon line
Where flame and ice melt into black
and sun and moon unite
Where drapes enwind so meek
the olden mossy trees
Across the mountains grey...
They glide into the falling night
Human in their hearts
but cursed they are
to roam as swans in daylight
freed only by the ev`ning star
Unto the end of time...
The wild swans fly
Into the fading sun...
Toward the burning sky
Where enchanted woodlands whisper
and the creeks fall steep
Where cold winds blow in ardour
and where the nightbirds weep
Concealed the valley lies
In which the six swans dwell
Beyond the seven mountains
Veiled by a vicious spell
This deceitful magic
To never be undone
With every dawns awakening
A feathered coat is spun
Unto the end of time...
The wild swans fly
Into the fading sun
Toward the burning sky
7. In the Morning Mist
8. Ãœber den Sternen
Wo die Nebel leuchtend schweben
in den Himmeln brandentfacht
Da wo Lichter golden weben
und der Bär im Norden wacht
Da ist All und all ist dort
Doch was verhüllt der Sterne Hort?
Was mag sein in weiten Fernen
In lichter Höh über den Sternen?
Dort wo die Kälte einsam klirrt
und das Dunkel Schwarz gebiert
Wo das Nichts den Tod regiert
Die Stille lautlos dirigiert
Was liegt dahinter? Frage ich.
Wenn purpurfarben Schatten fallen
und ruhmvoll Nacht thront über allem
Da sehnen wir in weite Fernen
zu lichter Höh über den Sternen
Wenn schwelgend sich der Geist erhebt
Der Atem in der Seele bebt
dann steigen wir zu weiten Fernen
zu lichter Höh über den Sternen
Weites Sternenfeuerrund
Mächtig ruhst hoch über uns
Welch Geheimnis birgt dein Schoß?
Ewiglich und grenzenlos
Wenn purpurfarben Schatten fallen
und ruhmvoll Nacht thront über allem
Da sehnen wir in weite Fernen
zu lichter Höh über den Sternen
Wenn schwelgend sich der Geist erhebt
Der Atem in der Seele bebt
dann steigen wir zu weiten Fernen
zu lichter Höh über den Sternen
