Occultum production wants to desecrate this ancient crypt to unearth the early, distressing works of this historic cult band, works that have been unfindable for years. With this CD, that collects the first two demo tapes and the only 7" EP, we will recall from a gloomy and damned grave those early laments that have been the supporting columns of Opera IX, and that, after nearly twenty years, are very far from what the band represents today. This songs are the evil seed that made the band grow up. Opera IX was born in 1988 by the perverse mind of Ossian. In 1990 they realize the first demo tape "Gothik". After many changes of line-up, the band reaches stability with a line up that was composed by: Cadaveria - vocals, Ossian - guitars, Vlad - bass and Flegias - drums. The sound switches from an "occult metal" to an atmosferic mix of Doom, Death and Black Metal. The second demo called simply "DEMO 92" include 4 cult songs and made the band well knowned in the entire underground scene bringing a contract for a 7" EP (out in 1993) under the banner of "The Triumph of Death", limited at 500 copies and sold out in 2 months. After that Opera IX started to produce high quality albums, becoming one of the most important bands from the italian and international underground scene.
